Otto Bierhals was born in 1879 in Rothenberg ,Germany. He studied in Munich with Herman Grober and in Paris and Italy,immigrating to New York he studied at the Cooper Union, spending the rest of his life in the U.S. painting and printmaking. He lived and worked in Manhattan, Tenalfy, N.J. and Woodstock,N.Y. where he died in 1944.His wife was artist Agnes Baskin, herself a painter and printmaker.
He exihibited in museums and one a prize at the AS Philadelphia. There is an active market for his work which has shown a steady increase in prices.
