Rhode Island born,Beggs-Ashford(OR B.B.)studied first under Francis Speight before moving to New York to study under Walt Kuhn.She also was a student of Henery Hensche,the Philadelphia Art Alliance,the Philadelphia Academy of fine arts summer academy in Chester,received a BFA from Yale and studied in Fountainbleu,France.The artist exihibited at the Museum of Modern Art(MOMA),the Corcoran Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution and was active throughout North Carolina ,where this painting came through a private collector.Paint colors are bright.Deftly executed bold Regionalist landscape with a Cezanne and 1913 Armory show style of influence.
