Peter Max Poster

(Item: JVDMAX1)
Peter Max. An Original Double sided Poster . Circa 1968. From bold, cosmic landscapes in the 1960s to sensuous, painterly renderings in the 1990s, the art of Peter Max represents a unique blending of cultural symbolism with an intense and vivid color palette. The artist's imagery has exerted a sweeping influence in the world of art that is often compared by critics to the Beatles' impact on the music of our time. European-born and raised in Shanghai, Tibet, Israel, and France, Max's multi-cultural background has given his work a rich artistic character, with influences as diverse as popular comic books, Classical Western art, European Expressionism, American jazz, and the ancient traditional culture of China. Max celebrates the American experience and revels in popular American iconography, as reflected in the vibrant and exuberant images he created as Official Artist for World Cup USA '94 and for Super Bowls XXVIII and XXIX. Unabashedly patriotic, he has created numerous works celebrating our nation's principles of freedom and democracy, including his famous Statue of Liberty paintings, series of American Flags, and works made for five United States presidents.
