Kawase Hasui, (1883-1957), "Snow at Kiyomizudo, Ueno, 1929. This beautiful image of Kiyomizudo during a heavy snowfall is a Hasui winter scene masterpiece. The rich red color of the temple and deep blue sky contrast the white snow on the ground and falling al around. Hasui was known for his spectacular snow, rain and night scenes. The wonderful atmospheric rain and snow scenes are among his best work.
